These are Tina Hamilton's poems from 6th grade:

Dreams

Dreams can make you fly.

Dreams can make you sad or happy.

Dreams can be wonderful.

Dreams can be ravishing.

Dreams can be beautiful.

Dreams can be fun.

Dreams could be quiet and colorful.

But when drugs and alcohol get in the way --

you don't have any more dreams.

Break of Dawn

Early in the morning,

Over hills, over trees,

The stars fade from the morning light.

Gleaming like a jewel

Sparkling like the stars at night

Soft like silk when the moon shines down.

Like Magic

Like angels awakening

Like Heaven

When the sun shines the flowers Bloom

and the birds sing and

When the wind blows the grass waves

To the souls in Heaven

When it's dawn

Everyone awakes.
