Judge Al Marple

Al Marple of Wasilla Alaska is here in Shageluk as the Official race judge of the Iditarod. He has been a race judge for 12 years, and he has been to Shageluk twice. The best part of his job he says is, "Meeting all the people at the check points, and flying all over."
The worst part of his job he says, "Enforcing rules."
Al Marple is a retired carpenter who used to build dog sleds. From all this experience he said he gained, "Patience".
We'd like to welcome Al Marple to Shageluk as the race judge for this year's Iditarod!

Take a look at their supplies!

At least we know they're somewhat

"well fed?"

Our class had met Mike Gascolgne he is from Australia and Allen Marple
from Wasilla. There at the community hall right now. Mike had gave us
koala's from Australia and he gave us autographs and Allen. Allen is a
race judge and Mike is a veternarian. The first picture is when mushers
leave by the bank, the 2nd is where they come into town and the 3rd is
our class or actually the 5 of us.

With our new Canon DV with FireWire and our iMac we are just 3 days old in the learning process of how to create QuickTime movies.

Check out a view of the Innoko River from above our village, some Ptarmigans in the willows and a local dog.
